THE USA's NATIONAL SHOW HORSE at the ASAoGB                                   back to Home Page

The National Show Horse is a type that exclusively mixes the blood of the American Saddlebred with the Arabian. Developed in the USA, it is an excellent cross.  Why shouldn't it be? Each breed is the epitome of beauty and grace; each has special talents; each already has a history of enhancing other breeds.

The ASAoGB operates the National Show Horse Stud Book of Great Britain. Part bred Saddlebreds with Arabian ancestry and registering in Saddlebred Registries B and C are eligible for dual registration in the NSHSBoGB (percentages apply - we will work it out for you). All that is required is a tick in the box on the Part Bred Application form indicating the desire to dual register the animal.  After 1st January 2006 all breeding stock required to submit DNA profiles.

The ASAoGB has initiated classes for National Show Horses in several major shows.  Our CHAPS UK Champion this year was A Chance of Fame - see below.   Watch this space for confirmation of 2007 classes in addition to CHAPS UK.
